Why we're still loving lace

Lace was a really strong trend again this year on the Spring/Summer catwalks with influential designers such as Valentino and Alexander McQueen featuring an abundance of lace as part of their collections.

Lace is one of the most fabulously versatile fabrics because - as we can see from the two very 'bridal-inspired' red carpet gowns above - lace can be structured and formal in a very demure and classical way, but it can also be very free-flowing and unstructured to create an image of opulent glamour or vintage bo-ho chic.
